The island of Korčula will remind you of a small paradise surrounded by a crystal clear sea and its indented coastline is abundant with smaller and bigger coves with some hidden or more visited beaches.

One can access the coves and beaches by car, scooter or boat.

A group of 40 islets is another unique feature of Korčula. Perfect for exploring and swimming is an interesting beach among them held by Proizd, which was awarded the most beautiful beach in the Adriatic in 2007.

Some of the most popular beaches in the Vela Luka area are: Gradina, Triporte, Poplat, Pičena, Mikulina Luka, Tudorovica, Stratinčica, Tankaraca, Martina bok, Žukova, etc. If you want to reach the little islands of Proizd and Ošjak just take the regular excursion lines from Vela Luka. Wonderful coves like Prižba and Prišćapac as well as the peaceful Gršćica and Karbuni are located close to Blato with well-kept pebbly beaches.

More sandy beaches are the coves Brna and Istruga that belong to Smokvica, with deposits of therapeutic mud. Close to Čara is Zavalatica with its more fissured rocky shore and Žitna with a just as beautiful pebbly beach.

Beaches whose name frequently shows up in beauty contests is Pupnatska Luka near Pupnat or the coves Vaja, Samograd and Kneže, all situated near Račišće. The closest beaches to Žrnovo are the ones in Žrnovska Banja Cove and Tri Žala Cove. Next to Lumbarda there are sandy beaches Vela Pržina, Bilin Žal and Tatinje.
